What a Wonderful World

This is one of my favorite songs. In this little video there is no evidence of any kind of discrimination. I love it!

She gots talent!

I have some very creative people in my family. Just look at what one of my sisters did with BALLOONS.

She did it as a favor for another of my sisters. Wouldn't you like to have someone who would do this kind of thing for you? It took about 4 hours to create everything. These are the only pictures I could find of her balloon skills.
This is only a fraction of the number of flowers created. They figured that if they paid someone to make all of this it would have cost between $400-$500.
We didn't get any pictures of the Cardinals Helmets she made for the Super Bowl. They were amazing.
All we have to do is tell her what we want and she figures it out. I love talented people!

I got a romantic man!

Have you ever wanted your husband to “be romantic” for your birthday or Valentine’s Day or any other time; I will lend you mine—but only for an hour. He is the kind that loves to bring home flowers. He buys all kinds of candles, and he is the one who lights them! If he could he would give me flowers everyday and put rose petals in our bed every night. He is a romantic!

The valentine’s day we were dating, he bought me a box of very expensive chocolates; I think each piece cost almost $10. They were delivered. I must admit that I was not impressed. WAIT! I was NOT ungrateful, just unimpressed. At the time, I would rather have had time with him and no chocolate.

This year-15 years later- he got me a simple gift. It was 2 oz. of solid milk chocolate in the shape of lips that he got at the local dollar store. I am VERY impressed.

We were talking the other night and we both agree that our time together has flown. This is a second marriage for both of us. His first was 13 years. My first was 17 years. Our time together has been 15 years and, for both of us, it has seemed much shorter than our first ones did.

That started me thinking! Why has it seemed to go so quickly? We have had the normal life of ups and downs, happy and sad, good and bad. We seem to always be out of money and living paycheck to paycheck. We don’t own a home; we live in a 2 bedroom apartment. We have too much “stuff” and no place to keep it. He has back problems and can’t do much around the house or anything. I hate housework (use your imagination here). He is legally blind, I have clinical depression. We have only “gone out” for anything resembling a date, once in the last year & a half. So how is it that the time is going so fast instead of dragging along?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that we like each other so much. Not just LOVE, but LIKE! He is so sweet to me all the time, making sure that I get to do things that I like. He even tolerates watching the TV shows I like (until he starts liking them, too). I try to watch the shows he likes (until I actually start to learn about the universe or military history or cars or planes or whatever). Both of our tastes have changed to reflect the other persons much more during this marriage.

Overall, we are happy. I guess that's what it all comes down to.
