Booties

I have tried to make slippers before, but the result was not what I wanted.  I gave up that aspect of crocheting.  But it seems that something always happens to bring us full circle.

And so it did.  A cousin of mine had a little baby girl at the end of last year.  This little girl is full of special needs, which means she is also full of blessings.  They don't live near me, so I have only been able to see pictures of her.  She is so small and dainty.

I can't begin to explain the problems this little girl has, mostly because this particular problem is unique to ONE FAMILY in the world!  My cousin happened to marry into that family.  What are the odds?  Really--what are the odds?

So I gave in!

I made my first pair of Premie Baby Booties.

That's a quarter, by the way -- just for reference.  They are about 75 cents long!

I think they turned out pretty cute.  But I had to guess at the length of her feet, so I hope they fit.

They fit Dear Hubby's largest finger and 2 of mine.

A New Project

Well these organizations are working together in Lands’ End “FeelGood Campaign” extending from September 1, 2009 through December 2009.

After learning about this, I signed up to help. And since they didn’t have anyone in Arizona to help co-ordinate things here-I signed up for that, too!

So I am busily crocheting hats and T is continuing to work on his loom hats. Right now we have 2 of the large blue IKEA bags FULL of his hats!!!

Working with “Warming Families” as a Chapter-Area Volunteer (CAV) means I also get to find other volunteers to knit or crochet hats for this particular campaign and to help with the regular hats/blankets/lapghans/etc.

Newest Niece

This is my newest little niece. She is so cute and a big hand full already. Last time I saw her she was crawling so it really surprised me when she walked across the room!
Of course, just like all sweet little hand fulls--she tired herself out. Uncle T got to hold her while she slept. That's always the most fun.

Baby Beauty

Is this flower too small for my head?

We arrived.

I am in Utah right now to help my daughter(in-law) with my newest little grandson, M. He is the calmest little one I can remember. Seldom cries. We have to work to get him to open his eyes.

We have found that he is much more alert and awake when his brothers are asleep. He seems to enjoy the quiet times.

He was a little jaundiced, but has improved since we have been here.

I will post pictures when I find the right cable. I brought it, just can't find it right now.

How To Sleep- by my niece

I got to have some one-on-one time with my sweet little niece yesterday.
"I want to take a nap now so lay down."

I laid down and she promptly put her little head and body over my shoulders and neck. As soon as she had her head down, she was asleep! I found a pillow and carefully moved her off of me and onto it. She is in the same position she fell asleep--right on her face. Apparently she always sleeps that way.
